History of Grunge Rock

Grunge has been referred to as the sound of Seattle. Maybe because this music was created in the 1980s and it started in the state of Washington, mainly in the area of Seattle. This music is often going to have a lot of really heavy guitars and lyrics that appear to be very apathetic to the listener.

Many of the individuals that have created this music were also known for their looks which appeared to be very dirty and unkempt. They did not seem to have very many theatrics when they were on the stage either. The grunge music is going to use guitars, as previously mentioned above, and there will also be a great deal of fuzz and feedback in the music.

Later, in the 1990s, Nirvana created the grunge characteristic that included starting and stopping while they were playing their music. This quickly became a large part of the grunge music that many people came to know.  Other bands such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Candlebox help propel Seattle into the forefront as the Grunge rock poineers. In the day, these bands concert tickets were big-time sellers throughout the world.

If you have ever attended a grunge performance then you will be able to state that you know that they are usually very high energy and you may have felt really pumped up when it came to the concert and listening to the music that was being played.

The concert most likely had a lot of lights as well as pyrotechnics that were related to the concert as well. Many of the grunge musicians have reported that they were not interested in entertaining the individuals that attended their concerts. Rather, they just wanted to be able to rock out and play their music without any interference.

It may also be interesting to know that many of the grunge bands that exist also have their roots in heavy metal music. Maybe that is why they really like the heavy guitar that they use when it comes to their music and the message that they were sending. Even with all of the success that these bands had they seemed to begin to attract less attention after the 1990s when Kurt Cobain was died of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Many of these bands started to break up and they were making less and less of an impact on the music industry.

Maybe, Grunge is moving away from Seattle. More British bands like Coldplay are touring and visiting Seattle.
